Curriculum Area: Design & Technology


Course Outline:
This is a one year course containing a significant number of practical elements which will involve you working as both an individual and in a team. You will complete a range of tasks that will build upon your practical skills and knowledge.

Throughout this year long course, you will have the opportunity to gain two national qualifications as shown below.

Target Level: Any student gaining a National Curriculum level 3 or better in Design and Technology.

Level of Award:
The Bronze Stem Award - You could be awarded a pass, merit or distinction.

OCR Entry level certificate - You could be awarded a level 1, level2 or level 3.

End of Course Target:
To access GCSE Graphic Products Technology which would be by gaining at least a Pass in the Stem Award, and at least level 2 in the OCR Entry Level certificate.

Graphics is challenging and allows me to use my imagination frequently.


Graphics is good for learning new drawing skills and rendering. The projects you do are also good, it is challenging but enjoyable producing imaginative designs.


Graphics is an interesting course, you learn lots of new skills throughout and there are some interesting projects to take part in.
