Course Outline: This is a one year course consisting of 4 individual 10 week modules providing the necessary Life Skills and Work Related Learning to prepare students for the world of work. Each module is assessed at 3 different levels. The modules in this programme are:- - Improving your own learning and performance; - Working in the Leisure industry; - Preparation for working life; - Organising a Leisure event.
To gain a Level 1 in each module you need to complete one portfolio task.
To gain Level 2 you need to show evidence that you have worked as a team member and have been able to perform a range of tasks.
To gain Level 3 you need to show how the work you have completed will help you gain a job in the job market.
Target Level: Students entering this course will have completed foundation stage curriculum at level 4 or below.
Level of Award: Up to 4 Entry Level Certificates.
End of Course Target: To access a GCSE or BTEC course - Level 3 in all 4 modules. To access the next set of Alternative Provision modules- Level 1 or 2 (Note the next 4 modules are Caring for Children, Community Action with the Police & Fire Service, Child Development skills, Community Service)
