Course Outline: This is an exciting course for students who love art and have the skills and enthusiasm to succeed. It is a two year course consisting of two units.
Unit 1- Portfolio (Coursework) this is worth 60% of your final grade. Unit 2- Set Task (Exam) is a Practical Exam this is worth 40%. The exam paper gives you a choice of themes. You will have 6-8 weeks prep time. The exam is 10 hours spread over a few days. In that time you will create your final result.
Target Level: Any student gaining a level 5 or better in Art and Design, with skills and passion for the subject.
Level of Award: Level 2 (1 GCSE)
End of Course Target:
To learn more about drawing, painting, printing, sculpture.
To choose your own theme and direction.
To try different techniques and then choose your own area.
To link your work to modern and historical artists and cultures.
