Citizenship Studies (Short Course) GCSE


Curriculum Area: CRE (Citizenship, Religion and Ethics)


Course Outline:
All students will follow the Short Course in Years 9, 10 & 11. This will consist of 2 units:

Unit A341: Rights and Responsibilities - Getting Started as an Active Citizen

Unit A342: Identity, Democracy and Justice - Understanding our Role as Citizens

OR

Students will follow a non-examination course which fulfils the statutory requirement for Citizenship Studies.

In addition, during this period, students will also experience a variety of taught modules focusing on aspects of PSHEE, as well as Careers Education and Guidance.

Target Level: All students will follow the Short Course.

Level of Award:
A*-G (OCR) GCSE Short Course in Citizenship Studies.

End of Course Target:
To access AS, A2 and further education courses/subjects associated with Citizenship studies.
